Paul Carlson - PresidentI began my career in Nashville, TN after obtaining a degree in computer technology, in the GIS and mapping industry. Working for a small firm allowed the opportunity to learn several software programs and applications. The opportunities were practically limitless and gave me a chance to learn GIS surveying for utility companies, building and maintaining GIS databases, photogrammetry, and even highway design.

While working for a large Environmental Engineering firm I had the opportunity to work and learn more in the Environmental, Civil, and Geotechnical Engineering fields as well as more Surveying.

Transitioning to the Software industry I began to combine what I knew with the technology available and seek out new and better ways to make companies more productive using this available technology. Working in sales, training, support and consulting roles I began to see and work with all sides of the software business and have seen the typical strengths and weaknesses on all sides.

These experiences laid the foundation for the vision of Carlson Desktop Solutions. I began this company with the dream of taking the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years, combining them with the best software solutions available to bring value to all of our clients.
